DHA Commercial Tower

Islamabad, Pakistan
2010-2012
Scope of Work
Design a mixed-use tower that incorporates 209 units of luxury residences, 8,850 square feet of office space, and 4,000 square feet of ground-level retail. A parking garage of 105,000 square feet for 256 cars to be located in the podium and basement.

Design Concept
The 28-story tower was designed to add a new modern landmark to a new district outside of Islamabad. The site allowed a tower floor plate of 6 units per floor, wrapped by a podium level of townhomes. A gym/spa and private dining/club were located on Levels 3 and 4. A three-story parking garage was situated on the adjacent lot across from the entrance motor court. The facades of the podium-level townhomes and tower were designed to relieve the intense sun on the west and south faces, with deep inset balconies and vertical shading elements. The north and east faces of the tower were designed with pre-cast, terra-cotta panels interplaying with panels of floor-to-ceiling glass.
